A mixed feeling...

Today I have very mixed feelings... My niece turned 18 today.

Usually when a child turns 18 everyone is happy and celebrating.
Myself, I find myself with mixed feelings of happiness, sadness and my heart yearning to see her.

You see this beautiful young lady that has become an adult today, has been kept from my family for almost 13 years.

My daughters were so close to her that they considered her more of a sister than a cousin.
We went from seeing her every week for 3-4 days straight with her.
To not seeing her nor knowing if she was still alive and safe.

My older daughter would continually ask me if I though she was OK or even still alive.  She would write in her school work how much she loved her and missed her so very much. She would also write about how worried she was because her cousin had just dropped off the face of the earth.

All I could tell her was that "I am sure that God has her in His hands and is taking good care of her for us. There will be a day we will be able to see her again soon."

She was a big part of our heart. We love and miss her dearly.

This was the last time we saw her.

This is a picture that I was able to see online of her.

Michelle,
Happy Birthday Sweetheart!
I love you and miss you so very much!
I hope that someday we can all be reunited!
Love, Auntie Dawn

My new craft room

I decided to take some pics of my new craft room.

I just love the relaxing green(that is the color) walls. LOL

This is the closet with closed curtains.
This is the closet with curtains open.

It still has a few things to be done on the bookshelves so those cannot be used yet. These are my bookshelves that hubby is making built in... they need to be foam sealed to the walls and then the walls behind the shelves painted.

This is my desk/table.. It is going to be given one more set of the drawers on the left.

This is the bed in the room for those times that I snore a little too loud or just cannot get myself to go to bed at times I want to put that last stitch in. LOL Picture on left shows both curtains totally closed. Picture on right shows the great ceiling fan and also shows one set of the curtains closed.

Well this is the tour of my new craft room that hubby is putting together for our Wedding Anniversary which is TOMORROW! (9 years and still going) LOL

I so needed this

Things are going haywire.... hope they seem to get better soon.
I hope this speaks to those that may also need to read this.....
Me: God, can I ask You a question?
God: Sure
Me: Promise You won't get mad...
God: I promise
Me: Why did You let so much stuff happen to me today?
... ... ... ... ... God: What do u mean?
Me: Well, I woke up late
God: Yes
Me: My car took forever to start
God: Okay
Me: At lunch they made my sandwich wrong & I had to wait
God: Hmmm
Me: On the way home my phone went DEAD just as I picked up a call
God: All right
Me: And on top of it all off, when I got home I just wanted to soak my feet in my new foot massager & relax, BUT it wouldn't work!!! Nothing went right today! Why did You do that?
God: Let me see, the death angel was at your bed this morning & I had to send one of My Angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that
Me (humbled): OH
God: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that would have hit you if you were on the road.
Me: (ashamed)
God: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick & I didn't want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss work.
Me (embarrassed):Okay
God: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going to give false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk to them so you would be covered.
Me (softly): I see, God
God: Oh and that foot massager, it had a shortage that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to be in the dark.
Me: I'm Sorry God
God: Don't be sorry, just learn to Trust Me...in All things, the Good & the bad.
Me: I will trust You.
God: And don't doubt that My plan for your day is Always Better than your plan.
Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God, Thank You for Everything today.
God: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I Love looking after My Children...

A New Look

I decided to change my blog layout in celebration for my upcoming wedding anniversary.

On Tuesday- February 7th 2012, My husband and I will be celebrating 9 years of marriage.
It seems much longer than that due to knowing him for 24 years, being with him for 12 and being married for 9 years.

My hubby has decided that since two of our oldest have moved out of our home that he would create for me a craft room. It is almost finished then I will be able to move all the craft supplies into that room.

I cannot wait to show you all how wonderful this new space of mine is looking!

Also please keep my grandson in your prayers. May God's will be done in all that is going on right now!

My First Finish for 2012!

This is Nora Corbet's/Mirabilia's Violet pixie.

She was a very fun and easy stitch...

I am gonna have to do another one just for me as this one will be going to a special recipient when a frame is made for it.

This has taken me at least a month to a month and a half as I do not remember the date I started. This was finished today though.

I stitched this on 36 count linen (lt examplar).
