News

Angel Wings of Hope © 2012
Ok.... I have been having quite a few orders for my charms and I am so thrilled.

I opened myself a poll on fb for my friends to help me name the charms.
Looking forward to seeing the results... If you are a friend of mine on fb please vote.

I was also contacted about having my charms included in a charity function in November which is exciting.

I made this charm for my mom....

I am also excited about some other possible happenings which for now I will just ask for a private prayer that this will work out.

I have a couple finishes... One for me and one that is waiting to be finished just right for a special little girl.

This is my bible cover finish #4 for the year.

This is Hello Kitty for a HUGE Hello Kitty Fan!
She is only 4 years old and has every Hello Kitty you can imagine... except this one. Finish #5 for the year.

I am going to attach it to one of the boxes below with her name stitched on the box.
Wish I could see her face when she gets it... maybe her dad will take a pic for me.

I work at Macy's and they were throwing these gift boxes away. I got permission to bring them home so I could use them for finishing my stitching off... Isn't that cool!

Finally Faith Driven Moment

Some of you do not know but I have been dealing with alot of issues with my grandson.
I have had to learn to have alot of faith that God is in control of what is going on and has a purpose.

Have been fighting to get visitation with grandson since December and thought relief has come due to a court order saying we could visit. Even though it was court ordered..... IT NEVER HAPPENED!

Well a week ago, courts have taken son's parental rights from him which means we have no rights to grandson either. Knowing that I could go to court and fight for parental right.... not having the money nor time to put into fighting.

I went to the last visitation and am putting my faith in God that some day be it His will.... I will see my grandbaby again.

I LOVE YOU TRISTEN!!!!! Grandma always will and she will never forget you. You are forever in her heart, thoughts and prayers.

So without hesitation I share my last visit with Tristen with you. (great great grandma in brown, great aunt in orange, great cousin in stripes, great grandma in solid blue, proud grandpa in maroon(it was Father's Day) and great auntie in pink and white stripes. My mother and my kids were not able to attend. Breaks my heart that they did not get a chance to say good bye too. I am in the blue and white plaid shirt.... kind of ironic that the shirt I wore to meet him for the first time was the shirt I said GOODBYE!)

WAAHHHH!!!!

I am not a happy camper!
Playlist.com no longer allows us to have the music player on our blogs!
I so loved visiting my blog and listening to my music as I read all of the blogs I followed.

I gotta find me a new player! I am going nuts not being able to listen to the music.

TRUE VALUE

Ever have someone look at a project that you are stitching and say,  "Oh, that's so easy, I can do that!" or worse... "I'll give you $5 for it!"?  Frustrating, isn't it?

This is an interesting way to calculate how much your finished piece is worth (in monetary values only -- no one can calculate or put a price on your effort, dedication, and love).

Keep in mind: The *average* stitcher can make 150 stitches per hour (some are faster, some are slower).

**Height in stitches multiplied by width in stitches = total number of stitches.  Divide by 150. Take that total and multiply by minimum wage for total monetary value of your needle art.**

This is a sample calculation -- it will give you an idea of how much time and effort you have put into your project.

PROJECT:
250H by 250 = 62,500 Total Stitches.

At 150 stitches per hour, that's 417 total stitching hours.

At minimum wage per hour ($7.15) that's a total of $2981.55

Now add the cost of your fabric, floss, and needles. If you use specialty fibers... add that, too!

Now -- we all know that we are probably *NEVER* going to have anyone pay us that much money for these works of Needle Art.

But don't sell yourself, your efforts, or abilities short.

Your work has great value -- so do you!

Enjoy!
