Super Duper Biggest Happy Dance EVER!!!

Super proud of myself and dancing the happiest happy dance EVER!!!!

Back in 2009, my online hardanger teacher had us do the pansy sampler from Thea and VS. Excited I was as I was doing so great...

I made a HUGE boo boo and cut the wrong threads.
I had gotten so depressed and upset that I could not even think a fix would be possible. My teacher passed away and it just sat there looking back at me waiting for me to get the courage and figure out a fix for it......

I am happy to announce MY LONG AWAITED FINISH!

Been working on

I have been working on a few things.
I still do not have my camera but I put my stitching in plastic and used the scanner.
Hubby does not like me using the scanner for my stitching as the thread and material fibers get into the glass and makes things not come out clear.

At least I am able to still share some things.... pics of Jesus wept and RMC will have to wait for the camera to return.

Anyway here are a few pics.

The first one is my hardanger stocking that has been previously posted but now it has a hanger on it.

The next one is a teddy in a stocking ornament. (finish10 for 2011)

The next two are quilt squares that a friend asked me to stitch for a wedding quilt. (There will be 12 of each design made.) (finish 8 and 9 of 2011)

Hardanger cross

I decided to dabble a little in hardanger once again.

I found a freebie cross online and decided to change it a little.

I decided to try the blanket stitch on the outside of the cross...

Grant it....

I am still a beginner but I think I did real good.... just need to figure out how to do the inverted corners better.

What do you think?

A new Hardanger finish

I decided to pick up something small and create a special gift for my oldest daughter hence the A.
I wanna thank Mary for the towels and the idea.

Here is what I made.... What do you think?

Well what do you think?

I decided to fiddle around with some stitches and create my own piece.
I think it is pretty good... I just need to fix a few things if I do it again.

Cat funny and Hardanger disaster!

My hubby was being silly this morning playing with the cat.

He put one of the kids face masks on the cat.

It looks like he could be saying..... "Now no one will recognize me!"

Now on to a very disappointing morning for me.....

My hardanger disaster.... not sure what happened but threads just started to unravel.

I tried fixing it but to me it looks horrible.

I have been asked if I will restart and try again....

Right now the answer is no.... I am totally heartbroken!

Update #2 for the day

Here is your 2nd update today on the Pansy Sampler by Victoria Sampler.

Bands #1-5 are now done.

Now to figure out how to do band #6 but that will happen after some housework gets done. YUCK!!

Update on Hardanger piece

Here is an update picture of my hardanger piece.
I placed a skein of floss under it as some people were thinking this piece is very large.
It is actually alot smaller then I was imagining it to be.
Enjoy!

Been busy working on ....

I have been busy working on my Pansy Sampler by Victoria Sampler for the ILCS-Hardanger group. It has definitely been a challenge for me....

Reminder to self... next time you start a hardanger piece that has new stitches....
Do not do it on linen with uneven threads unless you are really in for a challenge. LOL

Well here is bands 1 and 2 finished. What do you think?
I think it really pops off of the silver material.

A Hardanger Happy Dance.....

I finally finished my hardanger Christmas tree.

My oldest daughter told me I was not allowed to make it all red because Christmas trees are green.

I did realize while I was doing the stars that I put in 2 kloster blocks that were not supposed to be there. So I did take them out so I could put the correct stitch in.

I think it turned out great.... although, did not really get the hang of the doves eyes until I was 5 rows from the bottom.

I did refuse to take the wrong ones out just because this was a learning piece and others need to see that everyone makes mistakes.

A gutsy stitcher

I call myself gutsy for the following reason.....

I was dying to try some more hardanger.... so I went through my magazines to see if I could find any more hardanger patterns.

This one contains stitches I had never done before ... like woven bars and doves eyes.

Then I looked at the threads I had but noticed nothing talked to me.... so I remembered I had some crochet thread....

Yep, you guessed it.... I did hardanger with crochet thread.... I cannot help it... I wanted to see if it was possible.

Well what do you think????

Holy moly......

Another installment of Hardanger updates!!!

Rene from ILCS is teaching us how to do hardanger if you did not know that already.

She had us do a practice heart so that we could do the cutting on a piece that did not matter before doing the cutting on the piece that we have been working on for weeks.

Anyway, I did great on the practice heart. (no mistakes or boo boo's)

So I decided to continue on to lesson 4 - the cutting.
Anxious and very confident.... I proceeded to snip snip snip..... (reminder to self..... don't be too anxious or extremely confident)

Unfortunately, not only did I accidentally cut a fabric thread that should not have been cut but I also cut a stitched thread.

So I told myself to just relax and I mended the material thread that should not have been cut and I replace the one stitch of thread that was cut......

I think I did awesome because I cannot see nor do I remember where the boo boo's are.....
WHAT DO YOU THINK?

WOOOHOOO

I am really anxious now for the last steps of this hardanger lesson.... Although, I am real nervous to do the cutting part....

I guess I will need to work on the practice heart until it is time to do the last part of the lesson.

What do you think???????????

Hardanger is fun....

Well I am hanging in there.... Hardanger is actually fun so far.
I have just finished lesson 2...

The center of the star like things actually has a hole there.
Silly me was not thinking when I took the picture.... it is sitting on something navy so you cannot see the holes. :(

What do you think?
******UPDATED******
Ok! So I could not help it.... had to get a better photo taken of this... it is so pretty....

Yippeee Hardanger Classes .....

Rene from the ILCS group has started a hardanger class.

I have been dying to try it but needed an extra push to try it.

Now that I got my extra push to try it.....

I am enjoying it so far.

What do you think? Sorry pic is not the greatest.

Lesson 1 done and waiting for the next lesson!
