A great read!!!

I was able to get the book that I previously posted about here.

It is called Faith like Potatoes by Angus Buchan.
This book is an awesome read and if you should decide to read this book.
I will recommend you have a box of Kleenex near by.

May God use me and my gifts to inspire others and bring others to him.

I am willing to mail this book to anyone that is interested in reading.
Please leave a comment with a email addy for me to get back to you.

You Are A Pumpkin!!!!

Being a good person is like being a pumpkin.
God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.
He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all of the yucky stuff -- including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.
Then He carves you a bright new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.

This was passed on to me from another pumpkin.
Now, it is your turn to pass it on to a pumpkin of your choice.
I liked this enough to send it to a few of my favorite pumpkins in my patch.

Have A Happy Pumpkin Day!!!

Let's say the end date is November 7th!!! Good luck!

This drawing is now closed.

I love this....

When I was pregnant with my youngest daughter they had done an ultrasound.
They had told me that she may have Down's syndrome and they would like to do an amino.
I told them no.... I have already had 3 miscarriages which is also a possible result of doing this test.
I told them if God wanted my little girl to have Down's then so be it.
I will love her just the same as my other daughter and I know that God would be there to help me through life.

Well through a dear friend of mine and her 3 beautiful girls.
I am learning more and more about Down's Syndrome and what a blessing these miracle children give to those around them.....
I love watching them grow and celebrate their accomplishments.
I only wish I lived closer so that I could give them all a big hug and tell them how much they mean to me.

That dear friend of mine shared this video on her blog and it just justified what I told the dr's.
I would like to share that video now with you.

Thank you Kris for you and your girls in my life.

This is so awesome!

I saw this video and had to share... Here is some information on it.

Frank Rautenbach leads a strong cast as Angus Buchan, a Zambian farmer of Scottish heritage, who leaves his farm in the midst of political unrest and travels south with his family to start a better life in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. With nothing more than a caravan on a patch of land and help from his Zulu foreman, Simeon Bhengu, the Buchan family struggles to settle in a new country.

Faced with ever-mounting challenges, hardships and personal turmoil, Angus quickly spirals down into a life consumed by anger, fear and destruction.

Based on the inspiring true story of Angus Buchan’s autobiographical book, Faith Like Potatoes was adapted for the big screen by award winning actor and director, Regardt van der Bergh, and weaves together the moving journey of a man who, like his potatoes, grows his faith, unseen until the harvest. This inspiring true story of a rugged South African farmer, Angus Buchan, is set in the turbulent hills of the KZN Midlands. Angus' manic quest for material success is slowly transformed into a wild love for God and people, as he wrestles with faith, hope, natural disasters and tragic personal loss.

Labels

I was reading Ma Teakettle's post on labels.... I felt compelled to share a poem I wrote years ago regarding my nickname I was given back on 1987 or 1988.

They Called Her Golden Angel

The name everyone called her was Golden Angel.
There were years that went by that she could not understand why.

She asked them to explain....
Some said it is because you're sweet and others said because you're a giving and loving person.
Still she kept receiving different answers but they were all basically telling her the same thing.

That she was an Angel with a heart of Gold.
Always caring about others and trying to make everyone happy.

By being the sweet, caring, loving, generous, and very intelligent person that she was.
I guess her nickname does fit her.

But she still had one other question.

Why does everyone think that she needed to be protected from everything that is in the world?
She is not as gull-able or even as EASY as some have assumed.

Although, through all her life there is one thing she has forgotten...

She has forgotten to give herself some of the love, and just some understanding and gifts that she needs for herself. That she has been giving all of her life to others.

She has forgotten to be that angel to the most important of all people

HER INNER CHILD NEEDS THE SAME GOLDEN ANGEL TO REMEMBER HER!

So with this post it also explains the subtitle on my page.
Thank you Ma Kettle for the wonderful post!

What a great day!

I was invited to go with my oldest daughter to Pride of Prescott's 8th Annual Mile High Marching Festival.

It was lots of fun!

She is on her school's drill team as a co-captain.

They got a solid 3 rating, and the highest scores in their division for percussion and visual effect!
Which is awesome for their 1st competition this year in a band that is
1/2 freshmen.

The blind boy...

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet.
He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words. Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy.

That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were.
The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning?
What did you write?"

The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way."

I wrote: "Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it."

Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind.

The second sign told people that they were so lucky that they were not blind.
Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?
Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile.
Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling
. And even more beautiful, is knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

Phoenix Snow (HAIL)

Well yesterday it started to rain and the news was predicting bad storms.

Well.... it started to rain and I made the mistake of doing what I always do...
I say out loud come on rain lay it on me.
Pour down on me PLEASE!!!!! (we do not get rain often so it usually does not work.)

Well.... I had to bite my tongue because I got a little more than I expected.... HAIL!
We had 2 massive storms in less than 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
The first storm lasted about an hour and power was out for a little while.
It pelted us hard and was exciting to watch. Cat was scared to death.

Can you see the elephant in these storm clouds? The second storm lasted about 30 mins I think.
It did cause damage around the neighborhood. We in Phoenix rarely see bad storms.
It broke skylights, dented vehicles, broke windshields, power was out for hours.
I had to go out in this one when the hail let up just enough so that I could go out and move the van to the covered part of the driveway. (being that I just got my license this past February.. I did real well. Being that I have never driven on ice... I got so proud of myself saying I have driven on ice and did not have issues. LOL)
Unfortunately it was not moved before damage occurred. The hood of the van looks like a golf ball as the indentions are big.

It had huge hail ... I have never seen them this big. Two pigeons lost their lives in the storm. (One in this pic... along with the ice I had to drive on)
