A new finish!!!

A dear friend at work is expecting.
Since she starts her leave in May and my job is so unstable at the moment.

I felt it best to get this done and give it to her early.
I picked this up on Friday night and started it.
Then put the lettering in this morning to finish it in time to take it to work to give to her.

I think it is real cute....
It is a receiving blanket stitched in 9 count.
(It is not the full pattern but since I am not usually able to find stitching time during the week I reduced the pattern so I could get it done.)

This makes my 6th finish for the year.... Yahoo! I am on a roll.

WOW ... what a Spring Break!

Well this week has been relaxing and peaceful.... if you do not count the occasional bickering that kids do.

I have been able to clean house a little and actually get kids to help.

I have been able to get oldest boy to finish the community service he needed to do.
I have been able to stitch and received stash in the mail.
I have even been surprised when hubby took the family out to dinner and last night he came home with a surprise for me.

I found these online and had to get them. I received them on Tues.

I received this award yesterday from Barb and I need to pick 8 people to share this with....

Here are my picks and boy this was hard.... You all are awesome!
Donna
Mary
Velda
Carol
Bette
Lori
Barb
Janice

Hubby came home last night with a dozen red roses.... he said I know you love yellow roses... but you deserve red roses that mean love and not yellow ones that mean friendship. LOL

Here is my 5th finish of the year... I just love this yellow hand dyed fabric. (sorry not sure what kind it is)

Then today, the mail comes and I receive the two large grab bags that I purchased from Shirley .
She did an awesome job at spoiling me in these grab bags.....

The first two photos are from grab bag #1....
The following photos are from grab bag #2....

A good reminder - aren't friends wonderful for that??

$20.00 Sometimes we just need to be reminded!

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by: holding up a $20.00 bill.

In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"

Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this."

He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.

He then asked, "Who still wants it?"

Still the hands were up in the air.

Well, he replied, "What if I do this?"

And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.

He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.

"Now, who still wants it?"

Still the hands went into the air.

My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson.

No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value.

It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way.

We feel as though we are worthless.

But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.

Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.

The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE and WHOSE WE ARE.

You are special - Don't EVER forget it!

If you do not pass this on, you may never know the lives it touches, the hurting hearts it speaks to, or the hope that it can bring.

Count your blessings, not your problems.

NEWS and Wedding piece framed ....

Well, I know you all know about the economy and how bad it has been.
I do not know how many of you know that Arizona is really being hit hard both the housing and the government.
In fact it is so bad that they have been doing budget cuts.....
Little did all of us know that Education would be hit very hard.
This week lot of the people that work at the Elementary school with me are finding out that they are being laid off or being released from their contracts.
Unfortunately, for my family I am one of the unlucky ones.
They have informed me that when this school year is over that I will no longer have a job come next school year.
For me this is a mixed feeling but I am looking at it as God is working in my life.....
Hmmmm, please help me know what Your plans are Lord and also I pray that You have another job in store for me......

Ok on an up note..... I got my wedding piece for my co worker framed and gave it to her at her bridal shower..... She said she loved it and tons of the ladies OHHHH'd and AHHHH'd it. That made me happy.

Long awaited Jesus Wept Update

After many many agonizing non stitching days......

Then also a horrible incident where I thought I had ruined Jesus Wept by accidentally spilling maraschino cherry juice on it.

(I absolutely love maraschino cherries and after this I did not even want to see one.

I was luckily able to get it out. THANK GOD!!!

I was finally able to pick up Jesus Wept and go stitch crazy.

So without further ado.....

The Premios Dardos blog award!

Kris has awarded me the Premios Dardos blog award. Thank you Kris!

This award acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in his or her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values every day.

Step 1: respond and rework -- answer the questions on your own blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your own invention, add one more question of your own.

Step 2: tag - eight other bloggers to do the same.

1) What are you wearing right now? Yellow Eeyore Pajamas.

2) What is your biggest fear? Losing my children

3) What was the name of your favorite pet?
I have 2.... ***Brownie, was a puppy, I had saved and he had a heart of gold. (my father hated him because he would not listen to anyone but me.)
***Cochise was a puppy, that I was there when he was born and I forced the mother to have. (within a year he died in my arms from a spider bite to the throat.)

4) Who is the last person you hugged? My children as I was putting them to bed.

5) What websites to you visit when you go online? Blogger, myspace, multiply. Unless I am looking for something.

6) What was the last item you bought? Mc Donald's mc double. (hey I was hungry when I went to go get some cat food)

7) If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would love to visit Scotland.
But I would love to go back to Montana to live. I dread the cold (Az born, raised and raising) but I left my heart there in God's country.

8) If you could go to the Oscars, who would you want to sit next to? Clint Eastwood, He reminds me of my dad.

9) Who has inspired you the most in your life? My mom.

10)What is/was your favorite thing about being pregnant?
I loved the feel of having a growing little angel inside me, feeling so spiritually connected and feeling the movements. Least favorite? nausea and back issues.

11) What was the last movie you watched? Bedtime stories.

12) What is the luckiest thing that ever happened to you?
To me the luckiest thing is to have my wonderful children.
I can be honest and say that I risked my life to have each one of the 3 out of 4 children I have. (#4 is step but he is mine just the same)

13) If you had a whole day to yourself with no work, commitments or interruptions what would you do? --Cross Stitch till my heart is content.

14) Is there a major goal you have that you haven't yet achieved?
My major goal is to someday be self employed and see my children married and living out their dreams.

15) Drinks are on the house!! sorry no alcohol here.

16) What is something that those in blogland might not know about you?
I was my own abuser's caretaker during the last 2 years of his life and was in the hospital room helping the nurses with him. I watched him pass and it not only brought peace to my heart knowing he was no longer in pain there was also peace from the fear of death. Although it also brought a sense of deep grief knowing he was gone.

17.) What is the best vacation you ever went on?
My one and only Vacation as an adult that I went on was my absolute favorite.
We went to Montana (God's country) and I loved every minute of it.

18.) If you could have one wish... what would it be and why? To have everyone know peace and love..... I believe if everyone knew peace and love that their would be a little less killing in this world. (call me a dreamer if you must)
